J.J.'s First Day at Work
J.J. walked up to the receptionist desk in the lobby of the employee
entrance of the Disneyland Resort, where he was immediately given
about 300 forms to fill out.
J.J. took one look at the stack of papers, and started to panic. "This is going to take a week to fill out," J.J. whimpered.
"Oh, don't worry," the front-desk receptionist, cast member, cinde, said, reaching out and touching J.J.'s hand. "There is no rush, no rush at all. As a matter of fact, why don't you just hang out here for a while at the front desk, and talk to me."
With her very first glimpse of J.J., cinde was obviously in love.
Cinde had been doing the crossword puzzle, with a pen, when the explosion caught her attention. She still remembers, to this day, looking up to see, J.J. appear, walking, in slow motion, through the lobby doors, his silhouette, matted withen the flames of the fireball, a silly grin on his face.
Cinde knew immediately J.J. was her male opposite, and a perfect mate match for her. Or, at least that was cinde's thinking at the time, still...
Did cinde know what she was getting into? I don't think so. But, obviously, it doesn't matter what i think, for there she was, and there he was, her beau to be, her handsome, J.J.
"Take your time...," said cinde, eyeing J.J., from top to bottom, and liking what she saw, "...with the forms, i mean, of course." Then cinde, in a rare, bold, attempt to reach out for love, said quietly, "But, please, don't take your time telling me you love me."
"What? Excuse me?" asked J.J. Who happens to be hard of hearing due to a dumb mistake, J.J. made as a child, when he curled up, and fell asleep in the jet-engine of his father's lear jet.
"Oh, nothing. I'm sorry to trouble you," cinde said misinterpreting J.J.'s lack of hearing, with a lack of interest.
J.J. looked into cinde's, eyes, and grinned. He started to feel comfortable again, and happy, just like he did when he was a little boy back home with his mom... about an hour and a half, ago.
"Where do i fill in your form?" J.J. asked happily.
"Oh, if only you would. I'll show you where to fill in my form, tonight, in my bedroom," cinde, said loudly. Cinde was practically yelling into J.J.'s face this time.
But J.J. just grinned. He couldn't hear anything, and didn't say anything.
A feeling, a distinct, empty, feeling, started to grown in cinde's stomach. Cinde, seeing no response from J.J., other than his strange grin, smiled, and with a tear in her eye, pointed to the luxurious sofa, and marble coffee table, over in the corner.
"You can fill out your forms over there," she said, but her thoughts about J.J. were troubled. "He doesn't seem to be responding to me much," she thought. "Maybe, i need to speak up more."
"Thank you," J.J. said with a big grin, then skipped over, and plopped down on the sofa, ready, and able to face his new job...
...of filling out all those forms.
