J.J. SAVES DISNEYLAND!

Chapter Seven,

Trouble is Brewing.

Cast members, greg, cinde, and J.J., ran down the hall, around a corner, up some stairs, across the foot bridge, down a ladder, around another corner, into a large, yellow-painted hallway, before greg stopped them in front of a metal door. On the door was a big, colorful sign, depicting a mean-looking Donald Duck, with his arms crossed, and the words, "No Admittance," in big red letters across the top of the sign.

Greg grabbed his stainless-steel ring, of 150 keys, or so. He instinctively picked out a tiny silver key, and stuck it in the lock. The lock went, "Thunk," and the door opened to reveal a wall of solid rock.

J.J. watched cast member, greg, reach out towards the seemingly-solid, rock wall, only to see greg, flip open a hidden, stone panel, grab a lever, and pull it. The rock wall quickly shot up, and out of the way, just like the giant, steel doors in the first, 1976, Star Wars movie.

Greg, ran into the darkness, and over to a control panel. The control panel had one pink button on it, and one orange light. Greg, shot his hand out, and pressed the pink button as quickly as he could.

Nothing happened.

"Oh, no!" greg shouted. He pressed the pink button again. The orange light on the panel flickered for a second, then went out.

"Oh, my G-d, please no, not at a time like this. Don't you understand? I need you, baby!" Suddenly, all of greg's budget-cutting decisions were coming back to haunt him. "Don't do this to me, baby, please!"

Greg finding no response from the Disney control panel, started to panic. With all his skill, greg used his forefinger, and pressed the pink button this way and that, with no response. Not even a flicker of orange light, this time.

"Try using your thumb," cast member, cinde suggested, "that always works for me."

"Okay, good idea," complimented cast member, greg, switching from his forefinger, to his thumb. Greg pressed the button with his thumb, still no reaction.

"More pressure," said cinde. Greg pressed the pink button harder. The orange light, on the control panel, blinked slightly. "Oh," said cast member, cinde.

Cast member, greg pressed harder. The light blinked a little longer, but, still, the machine did not seem interested in turning itself on.

"Sometimes, when you just improvise, a bit... you know," cinde suggested.

"Okay," greg complied. "I'm not very good at this. I haven't had a lot of experience with these types of devices, but i'll try."

Greg started massaging the button with his thumb, pressing it this way and that, up and down, back and forth, hard, and soft, soft, and hard, this away, and that away. He tweaked it between his thumb, and forefinger, and twisted hard.

"Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggasssssssssssssmmmmmmmmmmmm," went the Disneyland resort generators.

"That did it! Oh, i'm so excited," shouted cinde.

* * * * * * *

Lights, blinked on, revealing a large cavern, with dripping stalactites, and stalagmites. Thousands of bright, over-hanging, light-emitting bulbs could be seen trailing off into the distance, for what seemed like miles, or so, down a tunnel. A tunnel, that seemed a bit narrow, as it stretched out ahead.

A tunnel carved out of solid rock!

Down the center of the floor of the carved, rock tunnel was a rail, and on the rail, a complete, shiny, new, ready-to-zip, mini-monorail system. The most beautiful mini-monorail system J.J. had ever seen.

"Quick," shouted cast member, greg. "Get into the mini-monorail, and hurry!"

Your pal,
Ed
