J.J. SAVES DISNEYLAND!

Chapter Eight,

To the Rescue!

"Wow!" J.J.'s eyes opened wide at his first glimpse of the sleek, mini-monorail. He stared in wonder at the all-wood, aero-dynamically designed, underground mini-monorail. J.J. was truly shocked. "I didn't know Disneyland had an employee-only mini-monorail," J.J. said.

"Shhhhhhhhhh, not so loud," said cast member, greg. "Nobody, but Disneyland employees, and special Disney guests, are allowed to use it. And, shhhhhh... don't tell anyone else, especially those a.d.d.er's. Now, cmon', stop wasting time, and Hurry!" Greg spoke, while motioning for cinde, and J.J. to step on it, and into the mini-monorail.

"Can i ask you a question, first?" cinde asked, motioning for cast member, greg's attention.

"Yes, what is it? And, please, be quick, 'cause frankly we have to be going," said greg, impatiently.

"I'm sorry to stop the momentum, but, isn't this subway, er, i mean, mini-monorail headed the wrong way?" asked cast member, cinde.

"What are you talking about?" asked greg.

"Well, what I'm asking is, aren't we suppossed to be going to that horrible accident, right outside the lobby door of the employee entrance? You know, the one that my beloved J.J. just narrowly escaped?"

Cast member, greg just stared at her, as he wiped the soot off his face. "I have no idea what you are talking about," he said.

"You know," said cinde. "The accident involving the 30 cars, and SUV's, the exploding gas truck, and the exploding gas pumps, at the am/pm mini-market, which turned into the 300 foot fireball that shot up into the sky."

"What are you... a pooh, pooh brain?" greg asked. "That was an Arco, and it was on Ball road, off of Disneyland Resort property, out past our perimeter, out in the real world, and has nothing to do with you, or me. No, our mission is much more important than helping dying people. Now, stop asking your dumb questions, dumb questions which make me have to think, and let's get going! Hop In!"

Cinde, and J.J., jumped into the back car, of the two-car mini-monorail. Cinde didn't like the fact that she was in front of J.J., she wanted to sit next to J.J., instead of in front of him. She turned around, and ogled her handsome, grinning, and waving, J.J.

"I'VE NEVER RODE THIS ONE BEFORE," cinde screamed at her beloved, J.J.. "I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO SCARY!!!" she passionately intoned, full volume, in the direction of J.J.'s ears.

"Me Too," said J.J. hearing cinde deep in his heart. J.J. felt like he had known cinde all his life. She could almost read his mind, he warmly thought.

"I can almost read his mind," cinde thought.

Greg hopped in the front cab, where only the drivers are allowed, and quickly pressed the big green button marked GO, that started, stopped, steered, and ran the monorail.

The powerful, electric-motors of the sleek, futuristic, mini-monorail, started to hum. The tiny rubber wheels used to transport the mighty mini-monorail started to spin. Blue smoke, shot out from underneath the wheels of the mini-monorail, as they made contact with the wooden, splintered rail, propelling the monorail forward, down the track, at the breakneck speed, of a whopping, 3.3 miles an hour.

"Is this as fast as it goes?" Asked cast member, cinde. "Can't you speed it up a little?"

"Ummm... 3.3 miles an hour. 33! That was Walt's favorite number, i think," said cast member, Greg. "Walt's first place, that garage of his uncle's, that Walt lived in. You know, the one near ABC, in Los Angeles? Well, that garage, where Walt lived in, is, or was, exactly 33 miles, or so, from the center of Disneyland, or something like that," greg said, barely making it through his tour speech, which he is supposed to have memorized, word for word, by now.

"Oh," said cinde. "Well, that's different then. If it was Walt's favorite number," she said sitting back, and wiggling into her comfy seat. It was going to be a long ride after all.

"What?" asked J.J. As they sped off, slowly, to the rescue, and to do their duty to God, and to our beloved Disneyland.

Your pal,
Ed
